APPLICABLE MODELS/VINS

All 1995 - 96 Protege model vehicles with a Z5 engine.

DESCRIPTION

A horn noise may be heard from the exhaust system while driving at 2800 RPM. A tail pipe tip is available to reduce this noise.

Customers complaining of this noise should have the vehicle inspected and if necessary, the tail pipe tip installed.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

WARNING:
Allow the vehicle's tail pipe to cool for at least 30 minutes prior to installation.

1. Verify the concern.




2. Insert the tip onto the tail pipe end.

3. Secure the tip 20 mm from the end of the tail pipe.
