DESCRIPTION

The rear door child safety lock operation may be stiff. This may be caused by a bend in the locking mechanism set plate. To prevent this concern, the set plate configuration has changed to increase rigidity.

If a customer complains of any of the following, refer to the repair procedures in this bulletin.

^ Stiff operation when engaging the child safety lock.
^ The door can not be opened (from the inside) even with the child safety lock disengaged.

NOTE:
It is not necessary to replace the locking mechanism to correct this concern. Service Personnel should insure customers are familiar with the child lock functions.

REPAIR PROCEDURES
