DETACHED SUNROOF TILT SWITCH KNOB
APPLICABLE MODELS/VINS
All 1995 Protege vehicles with a sunroof and a VIN of JM1BA****S0100001 through JM1BA****S0181242.
DESCRIPTION
When operating the tilt function of the sunroof, the "TILT" switch knob may become detached from the switch assembly. A modified knob is available to prevent this concern.
NOTE:
DO NOT replace the entire assembly to correct this problem.
If a customer complains of this occurance, verify the problem and install a modified switch knob if necessary.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify complaint.
2. Fit modified knob firmly into switch assembly.
3. Confirm repair and proper fit by operating the switch several times.
NOTE
(For Vehicles In Dealer Stock): Prior to new vehicle delivery, test the "TILT" switch knob strength by pulling firmly on the knob. If the knob is detached, replace it with a modified pant.
