1995 Protege model vehicles with a VIN of JM1BA****S01 47377 and lower
DESCRIPTION
Dead leaves entering the blower motor may cause an unusual noise. Leaves enter the blower motor housing between the edge of the cowl and the body on the passenger side of the vehicle. Refer to Fig. 1.
To prevent leaves from entering the blower motor housing, a protector has been added to the cowl grill.
If a customer complains of this noise, follow the procedures in this bulletin to correct the problem.
NOTE:
Leaves in the blower motor will not cause a fire or result in motor seizure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1) Verify the complaint.
2) Remove the cowl grill.
3) Remove the dead leaves.
4) Attach the protector to the cowl grill. Refer to Fig.2
