Thermal Limiting Fuse: Service and Repair

THERMAL PROTECTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Remove the A/C compressor.




2. Remove in the order indicated below.
1. Screw
2. Clip
3. Screw
4. Clamp
5. Thermal protector (See Thermal protector removal note) (See Thermal protector installation note)

3. Install in the reverse of the removal.

Thermal protector removal note
After removing the thermal protector, completely remove the silicone adhering to the A/C compressor side.




Thermal protector installation note
Apply approximately 1 g {0.04 oz} of silicone (Shin-Etsu Silicone KE-347W or similar) to the contact surface of the thermal protector, then thoroughly install onto the A/C compressor, leaving no gaps.
