Inspection and Adjustment of Fuel Injection Timing

[Inspection]







- Make sure that stamped line B on the injection pump is aligned with the stamped line on the timer case.
- Remove engine speed sensor 3.
- Fuel injection timing is normal if internal engine speed pulser protrusion C is located at the center of the lower side of the engine speed sensor 3 mounting hole (drilled hole).
- If protrusion C is not positioned as described above, follow the procedure below to adjust.







[Adjustment]
- Loosen injection pump mounting nuts 4 and 5. 4







- If the fuel injection timing is retarded, tilt injection pump 6 toward crankcase side D.
- If the fuel injection timing is advanced, tilt injection pump 6 toward side E opposite to the crankcase.
