1985 Mirage (1.5L Engine)
PURPOSE This bulletin provides a detailed procedure for inspecting 1.5L 1985 model Federal-specification Mirage to correct any emissions-control system tampering which may have occurred on these models. A letter has been sent to all owners of the affected vehicles telling them to return their vehicles to a Mitsubishi dealer to have the engine serviced. A copy of this letter is shown on Page 7 of this bulletin.
Please note that the customer is not to be charged for the repairs covered by this bulletin. However, if other work is performed, for replacement of an air filter or other parts or repairs requested by the customer parts and repairs would require customer approval and payment.
To achieve the desired results, it is important that the procedure be followed EXACTLY as described in this bulletin.
AFFECTED VEHICLES This procedure applies to 1985 model Federal 1.5L Mirage (non-turbo only) models with manual and automatic transaxle without limitation as to mileage. It does not apply to any other models.
