Fig. 81 Testing the heated air intake system:

1. Connect a hand vacuum pump to the thermo valve nipple, Fig. 81 and apply vacuum.
2. Verify that when the temperature inside the air cleaner is below 30 degrees C or 86 degrees F that vacuum holds.
3. Verify that when the air temperature inside the air cleaner is above 45 degrees C or 113 degrees F that vacuum leaks.
