Cruise Test - Part 2
Cruise Test - Part 21. CHECK STARTING GEAR (D1) POSITION
1. Confirm overdrive control switch is in ON position.
2. Confirm selector lever is in D position.
3. Accelerate vehicle by half throttle again.
4. Does vehicle start from D1?
Read gear position.
Yes or No
Yes >> GO TO 2.
No >> Go to "16. Vehicle Does Not Start From D1". Continue ROAD TEST. Vehicle Does Not Start From D1
2. CHECK SHIFT UP AND SHIFT DOWN (D3 TO D4 TO D2)
1. Accelerate vehicle to 80 km/h (50 MPH) as shown in illustration.
2. Release accelerator pedal and then quickly depress it fully.
3. Does A/T shift from D4 to D2 as soon as accelerator pedal is depressed fully?
Read gear position and throttle opening.
Yes or No
Yes >> GO TO 3.
No >> Go to "9. A/T Does Not Shift: D1 -> D2 or Does Not Kickdown: D4 -> D2". Continue ROAD TEST. A/T Does Not Shift: D1 -> D2 or Does Not Kickdown: D4 -> D2
3. CHECK SHIFT UP (D2 TO D3)
Does A/T shift from D2 to D3 at the specified speed?
Read gear position, throttle opening and vehicle speed. Specified speed when: Refer to "Shift shifting from D2 to D3 Schedule".
Yes or No
Yes >> GO TO 4.
No >> Go to "10. A/T Does Not Shift: D2 -> D3". Continue ROAD TEST. A/T Does Not Shift: D2 -> D3
4. CHECK SHIFT UP (D3 TO D4) AND ENGINE BRAKE
Release accelerator pedal after shifting from D2 to D3.
Does A/T shift from D3 to D4 and does vehicle decelerate by engine brake?
Read gear position, throttle opening and vehicle speed.
Yes or No
Yes >>
1. Stop vehicle.
2. Go to "Cruise Test - Part 3". Cruise Test - Part 3
No >> Go to "11. A/T Does Not Shift: D3 -> D4". Continue ROAD TEST. A/T Does Not Shift: D3 -> D4
