Muffler: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Support the intermediate pipe/resonator assembly.





2. Cut the intermediate pipe/resonator.
3. Remove the muffler hangers.





4. Remove the muffler.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the muffler.
2. Install the muffler hangers.
3. Install the intermediate pipe/resonator assembly to the muffler.
4. Align the muffler and the intermediate pipe/resonator to the proper clearance. Refer to Exhaust System Alignment in Service and Repair of Exahust System.
5. Install the U bolt type clamp.
^ Tighten the clamp nuts to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
