This bulletin is being revised to correct the diagnostic table, add model years and change the service category. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 01-06-04-023A (Section 06 - Engine/Propulsion System).
This bulletin is being issued to revise the Fuel Gage Inaccurate or Inoperative diagnostic procedure in the Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console sub-section of the Service Manual. Please replace the current information in the appropriate Service Manual with the following information.
The following information has been updated within SI2000. If you are using a paper version of this Service Manual, please make a reference to this bulletin on the affected page.
Diagnostic Aids
^ Ensure that the fuel level is in the same range as the customer concern.
^ For intermittent diagnosis, refer to Intermittents and Poor Connections Diagnosis in Wiring Systems.
Test Description
The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) in the diagnostic table as shown.
3. This step tests for a high resistance in the signal circuit and the sensor ground circuit of the fuel level sender.
13. DTCs will be set in the PCM when you perform this diagnostic procedure.
