Rear Wiper Linkage Replacement
Rear Wiper System:
Rear Wiper Arm Plastic Nut Cover:
Rear Wiper Motor:
Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative (-) battery cable.
IMPORTANT:
Before removing wiper arm, note its location for proper installation.
2. Lift plastic nut cover.
3. Rear wiper arm retaining nut.
4. Rear wiper arm from rear wiper linkage.
5. One cover and one nut from wiper arm base.
6. Plastic retaining clips and hatchback door inner trim panel.
7. Rear wiper motor electrical connector.
8. One screw and rear wiper motor ground lead.
9. Three nuts and separate rear wiper motor from hatchback door.
10. Gently pry rear wiper linkage from rear wiper motor crank arm and wiper arm base. Slide wiper linkage out of hatchback door.
11. Wiper arm base from hatchback door.
IMPORTANT:
The wiper motor crank arm is not serviced separately and should not be disconnected from the wiper motor. The crank arm is positioned on the wiper motor to allow the wiper arm to return to its normal park position.
Install or Connect
1. Wiper arm base to hatchback door; secure with one nut and replace cover.
2. Wiper linkage rod to wiper arm base.
3. Wiper linkage to wiper motor crank arm.
4. Wiper motor to hatchback door; secure with three nuts.
5. Wiper motor electrical connector.
6. Wiper motor ground lead; secure with one screw.
7. Hatchback door inner trim panel; secure with plastic retaining clips.
8. Wiper arm to wiper linkage; secure with one retaining nut.
Tighten
^ Wiper arm retaining nut to 20 N.m (15 lb.ft.).
9. Place plastic nut cover over wiper arm retaining nut.
10. Negative (-) battery cable.
