Oil Pan Installation

1. Install the oil pump strainer and a new O-ring to the lower cylinder block. Secure the oil pump strainer using two bolts.
^ Tighten the oil pump strainer to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.).





2. Apply a continuous bead of silicon sealant GM P/N 12346240, or an equivalent, to the engine oil pan mating surface.





3. Install the engine oil pan. Use the following components to secure the engine oil pan:
^ Sixteen bolts
^ Two nuts
^ Tighten the engine oil pan bolts and the nuts to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.).

4. Install the engine oil drain plug and the gasket.
^ Tighten the engine oil drain plug to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.).
