b. Transaxle Side Case (Left Case)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

^ Tools Required
- J 23907 Slide Hammer
- J 29369-2 Output Shaft Bearing Puller

1. Use the J 23907 with the J 29369-2 in order to remove the left countershaft bearing race from the left case.
2. Remove the following components from the left case:
^ One bolt
^ The oil gutter
^ The left differential oil seal

3. Clean all of the case components and the internal parts thoroughly with solvent. Dry the components.
4. Inspect all the components for excessive wear or damage. Replace as necessary.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

^ Tools Required
- J 35538 Axle Shaft Seal Installer
- J 35425 High Speed Hub Installer
- J 36850 Transjel(R) Transmission Assembly Lubricant





1. Use the J 35538 and a hammer in order to install the left differential oil seal.
2. Apply J 36850 to the left differential oil seal lip.





3. Apply Loctite(R) 414 GM P/N 12345493 or equivalent to the threaded portion of the oil gutter bolt.





4. Install the oil gutter into the left case. Secure the oil gutter with the oil gutter bolt.
^ Tighten the oil gutter bolt to 12 Nm (8.5 ft. lbs.).
