Wiper Transmission Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the wiper arms from the vehicle.
3. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
^ The 10 plastic retaining clips
^ The air inlet grille
4. Remove the 6 nuts (1) that retain the wiper linkage assembly (2) to the cowl.
5. Remove the wiper motor From the vehicle.
6. Slide the wiper linkage assembly (2) through the cowl opening.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Slide the wiper linkage assembly (2) through the cowl opening.
2. Install the wiper motor to the vehicle.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the wiper linkage assembly (2) to the cowl.
Secure the wiper linkage assembly with 6 retaining nuts (1).

Tighten
Tighten the wiper linkage assembly retaining nuts to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

4. Install the air inlet grille. Secure the grille with the 10 plastic retaining clips.
5. Install the wiper arms.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
