Wheel Alignment Specifications
for the Rear Axle

ATTENTION: Service Manager / Service Technician

Models Affected:
911 Carrera Model Year 1995

Concern:

Standardization of the wheel alignment specifications between the normal and sport chassis.

Also, the graduation plate of the spirit level 9550 for the

measurement of the kinematic toe correction was modified.

Alignment Values:

The rear axle alignment value for vehicles with sport and normal suspension is as follows:

Toe per Wheel: +1O'+/- 5'

Camber: -1°10' +/- 10'

Special Tool 9550:





All dealers will receive a new graduation plate free of charge. For identification reasons this plate is marked 'Stand: 3/94" (see Figure 1). The old plate has no date markings.
Replacement:

Remove the old graduation plate by removing the four (4) fitting bolts. Installed on the back of the tool is a plate without markings. This is installed for the tool's protection.

Before the new graduation plate is installed, remove the plastic protection film from the tool.

Note:
Tighten the four (4) bolts lightly. The gauge does not need to be calibrated because fitting bolts are used.

Also, when working on this special tool, extreme care must be taken not to damage the glass spirit level.

Specification:

All adjustment procedures for the kinematic toe correction remain the same.

Repairs:

When performing a rear end alignment, all cars as of start of production should be adjusted with the new graduation scale and alignment values.

If a car is changed from 16" to 17" wheels, the rear axle must be set to the new values.

Please change the wheel alignment values on page 44-5 to the new values. In the next workshop manual supplement, this will be corrected.
