Thermostat: Service and Repair

Thermostat:

The thermostat is located in the cylinder head on the flywheel side of the engine.

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Drain cooling system.
3. Disconnect upper radiator hose from thermostat housing (C).
4. Remove thermostat housing bolts (B).
5. Remove thermostat housing (C).
6. Remove thermostat (A).
7. Remove gasket (D).

After thoroughly cleaning area, install gasket, thermostat, and housing on the cylinder head.

1. Reconnect upper radiator hose.
2. Reconnect battery cable.
3. Fill cooling system.
