Reprinted below is the recommended maintenance for all 1985 model year Saabs. The schedule also appears, as shown below, in the 1985 Owner's Manual.

The Maintenance Schedule prescribes a program of instructions to the purchaser/ operator of a 1985 Saab for maintenance which is reasonable and necessary to ensure the proper function, durability and safety of the Saab automobile in normal use. The Schedule is divided into two parts: Emission System Maintenance and Vehicle Maintenance.

Note these important changes in the recommended maintenance for 1985:
(1) Major Services are now every 30,000 miles instead of every 15,000.
(2) Oil Change/Safety Inspections are now at 7,500 mile intervals for all models while Turbos are to have the engine oil and filter changed halfway between each inspection (3,750 mile change interval). (3) Tire rotation is added to all inspections (every 7,500 miles).

When performing scheduled maintenance be sure to tear the appropriate coupon out of the Warranties/Service Record book and stamp the coupon stub in the book. The coupon has a checklist of all maintenance steps required. In the 1985 book the coupons are arranged in order of increasing mileage.
