Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Claim Procedure

Claim Forms:

Owner notification letters were sent inside a Saab claim form/mailer. This preprinted Recall 264 claim form is to be submitted by the dealer to the Warranty Department. This is necessary for payment and to complete our Recall records and update our periodic recall reports to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Records are subject to Federal (NHTSA) audit. If the owner has lost the claim form or it is otherwise unavailable or unusuable, contact your Saab Regional Service Manager's Office and request a new Recall 264 claim form for the affected VIN. When the supply of forms pre-printed for Recall 264 are exhausted a blank recall claim form will be sent which must be filled in according to the sample on page of this S.I. Recall repairs cannot be claimed on a regular warranty claim form.
Submission of Recall Claims:

The recall claim consists of a Factory copy, a Parts Copy, and a Dealer copy. Forward only the Factory copy to:

Saab-Scania of America, Inc. P.O. Box 697 Orange, CT 06477

Attn: Warranty Dept.

Submit within 30 days of repair date.

Allowance: 0.4 hr. labor plus parts at dealer net plus 30% (the basic parts allowance is pre-printed on the claim and is the same for all vehicles). If the brake fluid pipe is damaged and requires replacement, add operation no. 52221 (0.4 hour) and claim the pipe as per the note on the claim. This means that if the brake pipe is replaced, the total labor allowance is 0.8 hr.

NOTE! Do not use the recall claim form for any purpose other than the one intended.

Claim work for Service Campaign 509 separately on a regular warranty claim form. See S.I. 05/85-761, Sec. 3, p. 86.
