Fig. 3 Exploded View Of Rear Disc Brake Caliper:

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove rear wheels.
2. Ensure parking brake is released, then remove pad retainer, Fig. 3.
3. Remove parking brake cable from lever.
4. Remove both guide pin bolts.
5. Remove caliper, then the brake pads.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Clean surfaces between pads and carrier.
b. Remove plug from adjusting screw and retract piston by turning adjusting screw .
c. Ensure guide pins slide freely and dust covers are in good condition.
d. Turn adjusting screw in until rotor is locked, then back off adjusting screw 1/4-1/2 turn. Ensure rotor turns freely.
e. Ensure clearance between parking brake lever and stop is .04±.02 inch (1±.5mm).
f. Adjust parking brake as necessary.
