Missing Data Cable for CD Autochanger

M92 9000S and 9000CD



On the 1992 9000S and 9000CD, the window sticker incorrectly states that these cars are pre-wired for a CD Autochanger, which includes the factory installation of a data cable. This cable is routed from the center dashboard area to the left side of the trunk.

This cable is only factory installed on the 9000 Turbo and 9000CD Turbo. If you have a customer requesting the installation of the trunk-mounted Saab CD Autochanger (P/N 02 47 544), install/route a data cable as described below.

Action:

1. Prior to installation of the data cable, you will need to:

^ remove the drivers seat,
^ remove the left side rear sill plate. On CD models you may find it easier to loosen the left side of the rear seat back.
^ Pull away the rubber molding around the left side rear door and
^ pull the carpet away from the left rear wheel housing.





2. Route the CD Autochanger data cable as shown in Figure 1. The end of the cable with the green band near the plug connector is located at the DIN opening below the radio. The cable should be routed right along side the radio antenna cable.
