Modification of Special Tool for Clutch Replacement

Application: 99 and 900 Models

A set of clutch removal/fitting tools was delivered to your dealership during June 1993. See PSI 06/93-0348 (Section 4, page 13 of the Parts & Service Information Supplement No. 1).

Due to differences in slave cylinders and pressure plates fitted, the lever portion of the slave cylinder removal/fitting tool set must be modified. In some applications, the hook on the lever is too long. When attaching the lever to the release bearing ring the hook hits the pressure plate causing interference between the lever and the release bearing ring. Modify the tool as described below.

-1993, 99 and 900 models

Action:





The 12 mm long welded hook must be modified as shown in Figure 1. Grind the hook to the correct dimensions.

Check to see that the welds (A, Figure 1) are not damaged. If necessary, repair with additional welding.

Warranty information:

A warranty claim may be submitted on a one time basis only for this tool modification. The following information must be entered on the warranty claim. Failure code 10102-00-0-01-08, operation no.10199 and time allowance is 0.4 hours to grind and 0.5 hours to weld.
