Removal/Installation
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support front of vehicle and remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove tie rod end castle nut cotter pin and loosen castle nut.
4. Remove tie rod end using suitable puller. Apply penetrating oil to tie rod end to facilitate removal.
5. Remove rubber coupling retaining nuts and disconnect pinion with steering gearbox from rubber coupling.
6. Remove exhaust air stove.
7. Remove exhaust manifold to engine retaining nuts and disconnect exhaust manifold.
8. Remove boot protector.
9. Remove steering gearbox to crossmember retaining bolts.
10. Pull steering gearbox down until pinion flange is out of crossmember. Rotate gearbox and pull toward left to remove. Use caution to avoid damage to steering gearbox boots.
