Applies to cars manufactured between 08/91 to 04/92

For Cabriolets manufactured between 08/91 and 04/92 with tire size 195/50 R15 and support between control arms, Part No. 155 407 211, it is possible that the control arm bolts and transmission oil pan could make contact. This would result in noise and imprint of the bolt on the transmission oil pan.

To avoid contact, the transmission oil pan has to be modified. Cabriolets manufactured after 04/92 were modified at the factory.





Trans. oil pan, modifying
- clean oil pan in the area of bolt for control arm

- saw lip of oil pan in area of bolt for control arm (arrow) by about 10 mm (1/4 in.).

CAUTION
Do not damage seal or transmission housing





- bend lip of oil pan with pliers and saw off

- remove burrs, apply primer and black
- paint

- apply undercoating wax

Note
Modify the oil pan when exchanging transmissions or replacing the oil pan, Part No. 010 321 361 F No new oil pan is available with the modified lip.
