Towing Module: Service and Repair

Towing Recognition Control Module J345

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

The towing recognition control module is installed behind the left side trim in the luggage compartment.

Removing

- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and move the ignition key or start button into the 0 position (preliminary engaged position).

- Remove the left side trim panel inside the luggage compartment..

- Release and disconnect the harness connector - 2 -.






• The number of harness connectors on the Towing Recognition Control Module can deviate from the illustration depending on vehicle equipment.

- Remove the nuts - 1 - and the towing recognition control module - 3 - from the duo bolts in the side panel.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• After installing a new towing recognition control module, it must be coded. Refer to => [ Towing Recognition Control Module J345, Coding ] Towing Recognition Control Module J345, Coding.
