Catalytic Converter

Removing






- Remove the muffler. Refer to => [ Muffler/Resonator Assembly ] Muffler/Resonator Assembly.

- Remove the bank 1 sensor 2 oxygen sensor (3). Refer to => [ Oxygen Sensor, Bank 1 Sensor 2 ] Oxygen Sensor, Bank 1 Sensor 2.






- Remove the catalytic converter to exhaust manifold bolts (3) and nuts (4).

- Remove the catalytic converter to exhaust manifold gasket (2).

- Remove the catalytic converter (4) from the vehicle.

Installing






- Install the catalytic converter (4) to the vehicle.

- Position a new gasket (2) between the catalytic converter (4) and the exhaust manifold.

- Install the catalytic converter to exhaust manifold bolts (3) and nuts (1). Tighten the bolts to 37 Nm (27 ft lbs).






• Be careful not to twist or kink the oxygen sensor wires.

- Install the bank 1 sensor 2 oxygen sensor (3). Refer to => [ Oxygen Sensor, Bank 1 Sensor 2 ] Oxygen Sensor, Bank 1 Sensor 2.

- Install the muffler. Refer to => [ Muffler/Resonator Assembly ] Muffler/Resonator Assembly.

- Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair the exhaust leaks as necessary.

- Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. Make the necessary adjustments, as needed.
