Dimmer Switch: Service and Repair

Instrument Panel and Switch Illumination Dimmer Switch (E20)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Removal Wedge (3409)

• Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

• Remove the key.

• When removing and installing components in visible area (switches, covers, trim, etc.), cover by taping the areas at which a prying tool ( (3409) , screwdriver) will be positioned using commercially available adhesive tape.

Removing

- Pry the trim - 1 - out.






- Release the connector and disconnect it.

- Open the tabs - arrows - and remove the instrument panel and switch illumination dimmer switch (E20) from the trim. Remove the instrument panel illumination dimmer switch.






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.
