Rear Brake Discs



Replacing Rear Brake Discs

NOTE: Minimum disc thickness = 8.4 mm.

Preparations
Remove the hub cap. Remove the wheel.

Remove the rear brake disc

Remove:







- the brake pads.
- the entire caliper holder including the caliper. Hang it up on a wire to avoid damaging the brake hose
- the mounting screw and the brake disc.

NOTE: Do not depress the brake pedal while the brake pads are removed.

Cleaning and checking brake discs and hubs







NOTE: Cleaning is important to prevent lateral runout at the brake disc.

Check that the hub flange is clean.
Use steel wire or a wire brush to remove any rust.
Check the hub.
Measure the lateral runout of the hub if the hub is damaged.

Installing the rear brake disc

NOTE: Take care with the new brake disc. Careless handling may cause damage such as out of-true.

Install the new brake disc on the hub. Tighten the mounting screw. Tighten to 5 Nm.

Install







- the entire caliper holder including the caliper. Use new screws. Tighten to 55 Nm
- the brake pads.

Check the parking brake if necessary.
Install the wheel.
