Introduction

WARNING: Follow the safety precautions when working on the climate control system.

NOTE:
- Read the instructions about slow and large leaks.
- Always use new O-rings lubricated with air conditioning (A/C) compressor oil.
- Always plug pipes and connectors when working on the climate control system.

Removing Expansion Valve







- Remove the evaporator
- Disconnect the connections from the expansion valve. Use two wrenches
- Remove the insulation
- Remove the temperature sensor from the pipe (clip)
- Remove the expansion valve.

Installing Expansion Valve







- Assemble the O-rings. Lubricate the O-rings with air conditioning (A/C) compressor oil
- Secure the expansion valve by hand. Position it so that it is free of the evaporator. Secure it. Use two wrenches
- Press the temperature sensor onto the pipe
- Reinstall the insulation
- Install the evaporator.

Tighten the thick pipe.
Tighten to: 20 Nm.
Tighten the thin pipe.
Tighten to: 15 Nm.
Sensor: 12 Nm.

Filling With Refrigerant
- Vacuum pump the system.
- Fill the system with refrigerant.
- Fill the system with fluorescent tracing agent.
- Leak trace using fluorescent tracing agent and an UV lamp.
